Koteshwar Rao G – Artist, Entrepreneur, Educator, Navodaya Torchbearer having a Life Painted with Purpose

JNV Ongole (1987–1994) | Migration to JNV Rajgarh |

Roots in Rural Andhra, Wings from Navodaya

Born in 1977 in a humble background in Prakasham District of Andhra Pradesh, Koteshwar Rao G was destined to color his life with creativity and compassion. The real turning point came in 1987, when he was selected for the second batch of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Ongole, Andhra Pradesh. For a young child from a modest household, it wasn't just an admission into a school—it was the opening of a new world full of possibilities.

The structured learning, disciplined environment, and vibrant peer community at JNV Ongole played a pivotal role in shaping his identity. As a student, Koteshwar was observant and expressive, often finding his voice not just in words, but through colors, sketches, and imagination.

In Class 9, he had a transformative experience through the Migration Programme—an initiative that remains the emotional heartbeat of the Navodaya system. He moved to JNV Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, stepping into a new linguistic, cultural, and emotional territory. This migration not only expanded his worldview but also deepened his empathy, adaptability, and love for unity in diversity.

From Arts to Business—A Journey of Grit and Grace

After completing his 10+2 in Arts Stream from JNV Lepakshi in 1994, Koteshwar Rao pursued a Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) degree, graduating in 1997. At this point, most assumed he’d take the conventional route into the corporate world. But destiny had a different palette planned for him.

Years later, answering the call of his true passion, Koteshwar re-entered academic life and enrolled in the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program between 2006 to 2009. It was a bold move—leaving the comfort of a traditional path to chase an inner calling. But for Koteshwar, art wasn’t just a hobby or career—it was a language of the soul.

Koti Art—Where Passion Meets Precision

With talent in his hands and vision in his heart, “Koti Art” was born in Hyderabad. More than just a business, it became a creative sanctuary where artistic excellence meets interior aesthetics. His work spans across residential and commercial spaces, offering bespoke interior design, wall murals, abstract paintings, traditional art installations, and innovative décor solutions.

Clients admire his deep understanding of space, form, and culture. Whether it's a modern corporate office, a serene temple backdrop, or a cozy home interior—Koti Art delivers art that speaks, heals, and inspires.

Through Koti Art, Koteshwar not only sustains his passion but also provides employment and encourages younger artists to pursue their dreams with integrity.

The Art of Giving Back—A Navodayan Educator

Since 2017-18, Koteshwar Rao has been channeling his passion for art into teaching at various JNVs. As a contract Fine Arts teacher, he has left a mark on students at:

  • JNV West Godavari
  • JNV Mehboob Nagar
  • JNV Adilabad

Inside the classroom, he is not just an art teacher—he is a mentor, a role model, and a true Navodayan at heart. His sessions are often filled with storytelling, personal life lessons, and the deep conviction that art is not just about beauty—it is about expression, identity, and healing.

Many of his students have gone on to explore fine arts more seriously, thanks to his motivating presence and practical teaching.

The Soul of Navodaya—Supportive, Selfless, Steadfast

Those who know Koteshwar Rao describe him as “the silent warrior” of the Navodaya movement. He doesn’t seek the limelight, but he is always the first to step up when Navodaya needs him.

Be it alumni meetups, mentoring juniors, supporting JNV initiatives, or helping with event designs and décor—his dedication is unwavering. His involvement is not transactional; it comes from a place of pure belonging and gratitude toward the institution that shaped him.

In his presence, you feel the essence of what Navodaya stands for—diversity, dignity, discipline, and devotion.

Legacy in the Making

Koteshwar Rao G is not just an artist or an entrepreneur. He is a living canvas of what happens when talent meets values. From the lush fields of Andhra to the vibrant studios of Hyderabad, from BBM classrooms to Fine Arts galleries, and from being a student to now shaping the next generation of Navodayans, his journey is deeply inspiring.

In a world rushing after quick success, he reminds us that true fulfillment lies in following your inner calling and giving back to where it all began.
